I can't believe how poorly this book was edited. I found an error in the previous book but this one had many. As a couple of other reviewers mentioned, at the end of the book we don't know who stabbed Grant - was it Bee or was it Boyd. Also, did the babysitter have the flu or a sprained ankle? Who was slapped - was it Megan or was it Shirley? The photograph - did Katie know about it or not? Both scenarios were put forth. Katie visits the Glam Room at six o'clock, then visits Star State Insurance before 5:30 and arrives at Pearl White's boutique at 5:15. At least two days pass after the incident at the theater but it is referred to as happening yesterday. In one place the word conscious is used when it should have been conscience. Someone needs to take the time to get things right. Also, there were too many characters that really had nothing to do with the mystery. I have read all of the previous books but am not sure if I will continue.Product details

This was a new author for me at least. So, I felt a little confused about the characters even though the author tried to bring new readers up to date. Overall the mystery was well p!annex with a surprise ending.
It was king NDA on & off for me!!! Good parts that really held my interest, to parts with 5-10 characters are vying for consideration! Too many characters kinda crammed in to too little parts! Too much "minimal commingling" to give a clear, concise picture!.!! Disappointed, just a tad!!!!!!
I so appreciate that the main character has a history as a detective and that she involves the police along the way. She does not try to bring down the criminal on her own. I was a bit confused about who actually stabbed the person. I need to re-read that part of the story as it was a bit confusing.
A good story with a slightly different twist on the crime. As usual it had me guessing back and forth for a good portion of the book. My favorite 'person to dislike' was not the culprit. Rats!
I have enjoyed this series until this book which frankly is hard to review because of so many missing pages! I downloaded it again- still loads of missing pages. So a disjointed read for me, and from what I could understand things are taking place in a very fast time frame from the murder, which seemed unrealistic.
I have been enjoying the stories in this series but noted an inconsistency in the. explanation of the crime. Supposedly Boyd retrieved the scissors and stabbed Grant "while he was still bickering with Bee." But Grant commented later that it was a good thing Bee "wasn't any taller" or he could have been injured more seriously. So, who really stabbed Grant?
Having a look for someone trying to kill another is always fun. But when there are a whole bunch of people, all doing unlikely things, four very unlikely reasons, it seems really hard to make the belief that they all work together be believable. Finding a sort of solution from the actors in the first attack does not work well when all of the actors have been working together for a long time but don't do good acting. This was less of finding out what the actors we're doing, and convincing the poor reader that at least the author understands why everyone will do unlikely things and do it poorly.
The best thing I can say is that I've read a lot of this series and I assumed that this was just an attempt to do something which is overly complex and unlikely to move well.
