I enjoyed this one even more than Fated. More alpha goodness, strong heroine, suspense, action, great secondary characters that add to the story rather than distract and a surprise that I didn’t see coming. There is some push and pull from the heroine but after the first part of the book it wasn’t as much.

I started this book about a year ago and realized it was the second book of a series. I felt a little lost so I shelved it. It helped to have read book one but this could be read alone. Just be prepared for some techie science talk.
So glad I never gave up on this series. I will be moving on to the next book.

Kudos to you Ms. Zanetti, you have written another Hot, Sexy, Fasted Paced book. This book is a page turner and the Love Making scenes between Dage and Emma are scorching hot!! Dage is the King of the Immortal Realm and Emma is a powerful Physic Geneticist. Emma is also, the sister of Cara who was mated in book one to Talen Dage's brother. The Kurjans who are the evil immortals are trying to reverse the matting genes of the Vampire mates, so they can mate them themselves. Emma's Sister Cara has been infected with this virus and it is reversing her matting genes from immortal to human or nothing. Emma and Kane who is Dage's scientist brother have to figure out how to stop the process or Cara who is now pregnant can lose hr baby and die. their are quite a few battles in the book between the Realm and the Kurjans and of course the Kurjans get their butts handed to them again. The Kayrs brother and the Realms enforcer Vampires and the Shifters take no prisoners. They are Aggressive, Hot, Sexy Alpha Males and I want one!!! they are strong protectors of their mate, their families and all of the people and allies of The Realm.

I said this before about Fated, I wish other paranormal authors would copy Ms. Zanetti's lead and write paranormal books without abusing, beating the crap an or nearly raping the females in the story. Ms. Zanetti has proven you can write a scary dangerous story without all the abuse to women. VERY WELL DONE MS. ZANETTI!! I highly recommend this book and this entire series. You will not be disappointed and you will finish the story with feeling Up and Happy and Not Down Sad!!
In this second installment of the Dark Protectors series, the Realm is at war with the Kurjans who have developed a virus to create a slave race of immortal werewolves by infecting shifters. But during their evil experimentation with the virus, the Kurjans also discovered that infecting a vampire's mate would reverse the mating bond, restoring a woman back to human form so she could be forcibly mated by a Kurjan.

As the story begins, geneticist Emma Paulsen, who'd been abducted by the Kurjans towards the end of book one, is being delivered, via helicopter, to Franco, the current Kurjan leader who wants her for her psychic abilities ... and as a mate. When, mid-flight, Dage Kayrs--King of the Realm--teleports on board and whisks her away to safety.

Haunted by dreams of Emma for more than two hundred years and waiting centuries to find her, Dage is determined that his future Queen wear his mark--sooner rather than later. Claimed seamlessly follows were book one left off, focusing on the relationship between Dr. Emma Paulsen and the eldest Kayrs brother, Dage. Together, they burn up the pages with their passionate battle of wills, both sparring for control of their relationship, which is a vast improvement over the dynamic between Talen and Cara in Fated. Ironically, I actually grew to like Talen in this story.

Still, there were moments when I wanted to smack Dage, and his neanderthal ways, upside the head while shaking some sense into Emma, and her runaway libido. I also had a serious problem--much like with Talen in Fated--with Dage's use of sex as punishment and to manipulate Emma into giving in to his demands. Regardless of the Kayrs brothers and their caveman mentalities, the overall plot of the series has me hooked.
